A full commercial shopping center designed by Christian Killen. The design was developed through site planning and 3D renderings in 2015, but the center was not built.
The concept
Longview Center was planned as a complete neighborhood retail destination: a row of storefront buildings around a landscaped parking court, anchored by tower entries with clay-tile roofs.
A covered arcade runs through the center of the main building, with trellised walkways connecting shops and offices. Stone-clad piers, deep overhangs and planting beds keep the walkways shaded and walkable in the Florida climate.
The work included site planning, building layout and square-footage studies, landscape coordination, and rendered views used to present the design.
Longview Center is a concept design that was not constructed. Images are cropped from design renderings, and storefront signage in the renderings is illustrative only.
