DESIGN PROFESSIONAL

     My name is Christian E Killen. I have been working with my father and Architect Thomas E. Killen for the last 24 years with Killen Design inc. I am a Computer/Electrical Engineering graduate from UCF who moved back home to use my skills to help my father's business.

My father passed away this summer and I am in the process of taking the ARE exams for my own State of Florida Architectural License. I plan to have all 6 exams completed during 2025. 

     Until then I will be continuing to prepare construction documents and plans for both commercial and residential structures. I have experience designing everything from multi-story commercial buildings to small single-family homes. While I am studying, I will only be accepting remodel and tenant fit out projects on the commercial side. Residential projects will be from new construction to home remodels and condo unit renovations. I will also limit my number of projects per year from 50 to 60 down to 20 to 30. 

     Since July, I have been working with P.E. Derek Cronin of Cronin Engineering to oversee my work and certify documents for permitting in Southwest Florida. So far Cronin Engineering has successfully certified 8 projects for permitting with me. I hope to have 2 more permitted by the end of 2024.
